Domain Report TG-RPT-1021, which measures what happens if onshore wind foundations keep being left in the ground. At the pace the International Energy Agency forecasts for 2025–2030, held to 2040, the global build-out produces about 488,000 foundations. They would hold at least 488 million tonnes of concrete on about 24,400 hectares of land. Recovering them would avoid roughly 59 to 171 million tonnes of CO2e, depending on whether they are crushed and recycled or reused. The 2040 figures are projections that extend a published forecast.

The report is written for project developers and underwriting committees. It is available on request from research@ce-infrastructure.com.
